Commemorating Nicholas Ferrar : helping preserve Little Gidding : remembering T S Eliot
We are pleased to announce that the Tenth Annual T S Eliot Festival at Little Gidding will take place on Saturday 18 July 2015.The Festival is a major literary celebration of the life and work of Nobel Prize winning writer Thomas Stearns Eliot (1888-1965). We are delighted to welcome again this year visitors from the T S Eliot International Summer School.
With just a few days until this year’s Little Gidding Pilgrimage on Saturday, here are details for those who are coming, including minor changes to the programme for the day, details of parking and car sharing. We look forward very much to welcoming you all, along with our Pilgrimage leader, the Rt Revd Rowan Williams.
The 2015 Pilgrimage is on Saturday 30 May and the leader will be the Rt Revd Rowan Williams, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, now Lord Williams of Oystermouth and Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge. For more information, follow the link.
The annual commemoration of Nicholas Ferrar takes place at Little Gidding on the Saturday closest to his feast day, Saturday 6 December 2014, with a celebration of Holy Communion at 10.30am. The Revd Paul Skirrow, honorary assistant warden at Ferrar House, Little Gidding, will preside and the Revd George Westhaver, Principal of Pusey House, Oxford, will give the address. The AGM of the Friends of Little Gidding will follow after lunch.

The weather failed to dampen a great day on Saturday at this year’s Little Gidding Pilgrimage. We are delighted to be able to share the addresses or sermons preached by Pilgrimage leader Malcolm Guite at the two main services at Leighton Bromswold in the morning and Little Gidding in the afternoon.

Stephen Conway, the Bishop of Ely and President of the Friends of Little Gidding, led the annual celebration and commemoration of Nicholas Ferrar Day at Little Gidding on Saturday 7 December 2013. After the service he addressed those gathered, linking the life and example of Nicholas and his family with the recently-adopted Ely diocesan vision statement.
