This year’s Little Gidding Pilgrimage will take place on Saturday 14 May.
The Pilgrimage will follow the format used for the last three years, beginning at 10.30am with a celebration of the Eucharist at Leighton Bromswold. The Dean of St Edmundsbury, the Very Revd Dr Frances Ward will preside and the preacher will be the renowned writer and editor Ronald Blythe (author of Akenfield and the weekly Church Times column ‘Word from Wormingford’).
After lunch at the nearby Green Man, we will walk the five miles to Little Gidding, with several pauses for rest and prayer. The Pilgrimage culminates in prayers at the tomb of Nicholas Ferrar, followed by Evensong, at which the Bishop of Peterborough, the Rt Revd Donald Allister, will preach the sermon. After Evensong, Afternoon Tea is served at Ferrar House.
