This year’s Eliot Festival at Little Gidding is on the weekend of Saturday 7 July and Sunday 8 July. Put the date in your calendar and diary now! Tickets are on sale.
This is the seventh annual Festival, celebrating and exploring the life and works of the poet T.S. Eliot.
The weekend includes talks by Eliot scholars, punctuated with poetry and discussion. There is opportunity for questions and interludes for music, food and drink, and time to chat and relax in the beautiful surroundings of Little Gidding that so inspired and charmed the poet, as well as countless other visitors over the years
A Saturday evening concert features Beethoven’s String Quartet in A Minor, performed by the renowned Bingham String Quartet — a piece that Eliot himself recognised as inspiration for his own poetic Quartets.
A highlight of Sunday is the annual reading of ‘Little Gidding’ at Little Gidding right in front of what the poet described as ‘the dull facade’.
This Festival has built a reputation over the previous six years as an important focus for Eliot lovers: a unique occasion where scholars and poetry-lovers can mingle and share.
