With sadness we report that the Revd Jackie Duck, incumbent at Little Gidding until last year, and a Trustee of the Little Gidding Trust, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday 10 October 2010.

With much regret we report the sad news that the Revd Jackie Duck died, suddenly and unexpectedly, early on Sunday morning, 10 October 2010.

Jackie was the Priest-in-Charge at Little Gidding, and other parishes, from 2006 until last year when she resigned from from some of the parishes in her charge, remaining incumbent at the others, including Leighton Bromswold. Jackie was also a Trustee of the Little Gidding Trust, which owns Ferrar House and the other property at Little Gidding, and had served for a couple of years on the Committee of the Friends of Little Gidding.

Many Friends and visitors will have known Jackie, or seen her at the Little Gidding Pilgrimage or at the Eliot Festival (for which she acted as the ticket office).

The funeral will take place at Leighton Bromswold Church on Monday 18 October at 2.30pm. The family ask that black ties are not worn and that the service be a celebration of Jackie’s life. No flowers, but the family will ask for donations to one or more of Jackie’s favourite charities (details not known yet).

I am sure that you will want to remember Jackie in your prayers, together with her husband Graham and their three (adult) sons.
